Beauty & Body Therapy Diploma (Full Time)

This course is designed for students who can allow full time study commitments. Attending full time has the benefit of allowing the student to qualify in all therapy related subjects in one course.

The diploma is made up of 4 combined courses: Beautician, Facial Electrical Therapy, Body Treatments & Electrolysis

Beautician

• Facial therapy
• Learning to diagnose different skin types & conditions
• Facial cleansing & toning in the different forms
• Facial customised mask & specialised application
• Moisturising & protection treatments
• Related anatomy & physiology
• Eye treatments
• Eyebrow measuring and shaping
• Eyelash & brow tinting
• Make up application
• Application of day, evening, special occasion & corrective make- up
• Cosmetic chemistry
• Manicure & pedicure
• Manicure treatment including specialised treatments
• Pedicure treatment including specialised treatments
• Related anatomy & physiology
• Hair removal
• Waxing hair removal of various areas with hot & cold wax application
• Sugaring hair removal treatment
• Hair bleaching treatment
• Related anatomy & physiology

Facial electrical therapy

• This includes the knowledge and skill of using all the Hi-tech facial electrical equipment

Body Treatments

• The study of anatomy & physiology for the whole body – see A&P
• Body Massage theory & techniques
• Body figure analysis - To include figure correction, diet & exercise, cellulite treatments and postural correction
• Body electrical therapy - This includes the knowledge and skill of using all the Hi-tech body electrical equipment used for slimming and cellulite correction

Electrolysis

• This involves using electrical current to destroy hair growth permanently and is the foundation requirement for laser treatment

Core subjects

• First aid, hygiene, health & safety laws, salon business management & related laws, career guidance, client care & professional ethics
